My Homemade Toothpaste

As I continue to find cleaner beauty products for me and my family, I realized one thing was still missing. Good toothpaste! I've been on the hunt for a quality, clean and completely natural toothpaste for a loooong time now. I did find a great salt-based one at Whole Foods but it was WAY too expensive for toothpaste so I decided to channel my inner Martha Stewart and embark on making my own. I emailed Dr. Silkman, my totally brilliant holistic dentist, for suggestions, did some research online, and started experimenting.

The results? I'm a VERY happy camper!...and so are my teeth : ) Here's the wicked easy recipe:

Here's what my toothpaste looks like.Organic Toothpaste

Homemade Almond Milk

Moooooo! ...well, not really.

I found this wonderful recipe for homemade almond milk from a wonderful blog, called Happy Foody, that I recently discovered. The writer, Sara Janssen (who lives an incredible life of conscienceness with her husband and two beautiful children), shared this recipe and I think it's one of the best I've found. I think y'all will find it delish! I altered the recipe a tiny bit to sub in a healthier salt. If you don't already, you may want to start using Himalayan Salt or Celtic Sea Salt. Both are chockful of beneficial trace minerals that table salt does not contain. Table salt is a completely refined, man-made substance full of harmful chemicals.
